We hope that people will be delighted when they catch a glimpse of the jubilee letter box toppers that will be on display in Stevenage high street with thanks to the superb craft work by Stevenage Postbox Knitters. Onlookers can see the queen in her carriage pulled by knitted horses and footmen. On a second letter box a range of their sumptuous crowns are on display.
The crown theme not only works for the queen’s jubilee but also for the charity that we are raising awareness for; Cancer Hair Care. The charity is celebrating its 10 year anniversary of supporting people who lose their hair during cancer treatment.
Cancer Hair Care has a theme of ‘Courage Crown’s’. As part of their support packages they provide knitted crowns for children to wear once they have had their hair cut off ready for cancer treatment. The charity is celebrating their 10th anniversary alongside the jubilee by providing free, specialist headwear with the union jack colours along with beautiful knitted crowns and jubilee coloured headbands so that people who are hair free can join in the celebrations with dignity.
If you would like to donate to support our work here is our current Just Giving campaign: Courage Crowns
With thanks to the fantastic handwork of the Stevenage Letterbox Knitters.
